- The PM MITRA Park will be located in Bhainsola village, Badnawar tehsil, in Dhar district, Madhya Pradesh. It will span over 21,000 acres, positioned approximately 110 kilometers from Indore, 85 kilometers from the Pithampur industrial cluster, and 50 kilometers from the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway via Ratlam.
- The park will feature various modern facilities including a 20 Mega Liters per Day (MLD) Zero Liquid Discharge (ZLD) plant, a solar-powered energy facility, and plug-and-play Built-To-Suit (BTS) units. These facilities will help establish the park as a sustainable and energy-efficient textile hub.
Main Point :-
(i) In addition to industrial facilities, residential complexes will be built for the workers, ensuring that the workforce has comprehensive infrastructure within the projectβs vicinity. The construction is expected to be completed within 14 months.
(ii) The PM MITRA Park Project is a Centrally Sponsored Scheme (CSS), which was announced by Union Minister Nirmala Sitharaman in the Union Budget for Financial Year 2021-22. The Government of India (GoI) has allocated Rs 4,445 crore for the implementation of the scheme over seven years (FY22-FY28).
(iii) As part of the PM MITRA initiative, the Government of India has announced the establishment of seven sites across the country for setting up textile parks. These locations include Tamil Nadu (Virudhnagar), Telangana (Warangal), Gujarat (Navsari), Karnataka (Kalaburagi), Madhya Pradesh (Dhar), Uttar Pradesh (Lucknow), and Maharashtra (Amravati).

In April 2025, Union Minister Amit Shah, who heads both the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) and the Ministry of Cooperation (MoC), recently addressed the State Level Cooperative Conference in Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh (MP). The event was held under the theme of β2025 - International Cooperative Yearβ to highlight the growing significance of cooperative societies in India.

Madhya Pradesh Declares 25th Wildlife Sanctuary Named After Dr. B.R. Ambedkar in Sagar District.
In April 2025, the Government of Madhya Pradesh (MP) declared its 25th Wildlife Sanctuary (WLS), named Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar Abhyaran, covering an area of 258.64 square kilometres (sq. km) in the Sagar district of Madhya Pradesh.
- The sanctuary was formally notified under the Wildlife Protection Act, 1972, and was inaugurated on 14th April 2025, commemorating the 134th birth anniversary of Dr. Bhimrao Ramji Ambedkar.
- The creation of this WLS aims to strengthen wildlife conservation, safeguard regional biodiversity, and promote sustainable eco-tourism along with generating employment opportunities in the region. Madhya Pradesh retains its title as the βTiger State of India.β
- Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar Abhyaran is situated within the North Sagar Forest Division, encompassing forested regions in Banda Tehsil and Shahgarh of the Sagar district, Madhya Pradesh (MP). It has been strategically planned to serve as a protected wildlife corridor between the Panna Tiger Reserve in the Bundelkhand region and the Madhav Tiger Reserve in the Gwalior-Chambal region.
Main Point :-
(i) This corridor is expected to play a crucial role in developing the longest and largest tiger corridor in North-Central India, facilitating the safe movement of various species including tigers, cheetahs, leopards, wolves, gharials, and vultures. It further enhances landscape-level connectivity between Madhav Tiger Reserve and Ranthambore Tiger Reserve in Sawai Madhopur, Rajasthan, via the Kuno National Park in Sheopur, MP β known for housing African cheetahs.
(ii) Madhya Pradesh is already home to several significant wildlife sanctuaries and tiger reserves such as Pench, Kanha, Bandhavgarh, Satpura, and Panna, reinforcing its status as a major biodiversity hotspot in India. The declaration of this new sanctuary adds to the conservation efforts aimed at preserving both flora and fauna.
(iii) As a national comparison, Ranthambore National Park in Rajasthan is among the largest and most famous tiger reserves in the country. Interestingly, the Andaman and Nicobar Islands have the highest number of Wildlife Sanctuaries (WLS) in India, with a total of 97 sanctuaries among all states and Union Territories.

On the occasion of World Health Day (April 7, 2025), Madhya Pradesh (MP) Chief Minister (CM) Dr. Mohan Yadav launched the Auxiliary Nurse Midwife Online 2.0 (ANMOL 2.0) app, web portal, and the Maternal & Child Sanjeevan Mission Strategy Document in Bhopal, MP.
- The ANMOL 2.0 platform aims to ensure 100% registration and real-time monitoring of pregnant women and infants to effectively reduce the Maternal Mortality Rate (MMR) and Infant Mortality Rate (IMR) in the state.

(i) Around 20,000 Auxiliary Nurse Midwives (ANMs) have been mapped and trained to utilize the ANMOL 2.0 system for seamless data entry and health service delivery.
(ii) Future plans include the integration of Accredited Social Health Activists (ASHAs) and Anganwadi workers into the platform, enabling a comprehensive and collaborative approach to maternal and child healthcare services.

Renowned Rai Folk Dancer and Padma Shri Recipient Ram Sahay Panday Passes Away.
In April 2025, renowned folk dance artist Ram Sahay Panday passed away at the age of 92 in Sagar district, Madhya Pradesh (MP). He was born in Sagar district (MP) on March 11, 1933.
- In 2022, he was honoured with the Padma Shri award, India's fourth highest civilian award in the field of Arts, for his contributions to Indian art and culture, particularly for preserving and popularising Rai dance.
- Ram Sahay Panday dedicated over 60 years of his life to promoting Rai, a traditional folk dance form of the Bedia community from the Bundelkhand region in MP, by skillfully blending it with the rhythmic beats of the classical percussion instrument Mridangam.
- Ram Sahay Panday transformed Rai dance from a local tradition into a globally acclaimed cultural heritage, delivering over 100 performances in 18 countries.

(i) Ram Sahay Panday established the Bundelkhandi Lok Nritya Natya Kala Parishad, an organization committed to preserving the rich cultural heritage of the economically marginalized Bundelkhand region.
(ii) He was appointed as a member of the Tribal Folk Art Council by the Government of Madhya Pradesh in recognition of his lifelong dedication to the art form.

Madhav National Park in Madhya Pradesh Declared as India's 58th Tiger Reserve.
In March 2025, Union Minister Bhupender Yadav, Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change (MoEFCC), announced Madhav National Park in Madhya Pradesh (MP) as India's 58th Tiger Reserve (TR), making it the ninth TR in MP.
- The other TRs in MP include Bandhavgarh TR, Kanha TR, Panna TR, Sanjay TR, Satpura TR, Pench TR, Veerangana Durgavati TR, and Ratapani Wildlife Sanctuary.
- Tiger Reserves are notified by State Governments as per Section 38V of the Wildlife (Protection) Act, 1972, on the advice of the National Tiger Conservation Authority (NTCA).
- Madhav Tiger Reserve is located in the Shivpuri district within the Gwalior-Chambal region. It spans 1,751 square kilometers (sq km), featuring a core area of 375 sq km and a buffer area of 1,276 sq km.
Main Point :-
(i) As of March 2025, Madhav TR is home to five tigers, including two cubs born recently. Two more tigers may be released into the TR.
(ii) Under MP's tiger reintroduction project, three tigers, including two females, were introduced to Madhav National Park in 2023.
(iii) India hosts over 70% of the worldβs wild tiger population, with approximately 3,682 tigers.

MP Government and SECI Sign MoU for 200 MW Solar Project in Dhar.
In February 2025, the Government of Madhya Pradesh (MP) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Solar Energy Corporation of India Limited (SECI), a New Delhi-based Navratna Central Public Sector Undertaking (CPSU) under the Ministry of New & Renewable Energy (MNRE), to establish a 200 Megawatt (MW) solar project in Dhar (MP) along with a 1000 Megawatt-hour (MWh) battery storage project.
- The agreement was signed by Sivakumar V Vepakomma, Director (Power Systems) SECI, and MP State Minister Manu Srivastava, Additional Chief Secretary, NRE, during the Global Investors Summit 2025, organized by the MP Government and inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Bhopal (MP).

(i) The solar project is part of a 500 MW agreement with Madhya Pradesh Power Management Company Limited (MPPMCL) under the Central Public Sector Undertaking (CPSU) Scheme for 25 years.

Datia Airport Recently Becomes Madhya Pradeshβs 8th Public Airport with DGCA License.
On February 22, 2025, the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), under the Ministry of Civil Aviation (MOCA), granted Datia Airport, located in Datia, Madhya Pradesh (MP), a public aerodrome license under the 3C/Visual Flight Rules (VFR) category.
- With this approval, Datia Airport has now become the 8th public airport in Madhya Pradesh, enhancing regional connectivity and supporting economic development in the Datia region.
- The other licensed public airports in Madhya Pradesh are Raja Bhoj International Airport (Bhopal Airport) in Bhopal, Devi Ahilya Bai Holkar Airport (Indore Airport) in Indore, Rajmata Vijaya Raje Scindia Air Terminal (Gwalior Airport) in Gwalior, Dumna Airport (Jabalpur Airport) in Jabalpur, Khajuraho Airport in Khajuraho, Rewa Airport in Rewa, and Satna Airport in Satna.

(i) Datia Airport spans approximately 118 acres, featuring a 1810-meter-long and 30-meter-wide runway, a 768 square meter terminal building with a capacity of 100 passengers per hour, and an apron designed to accommodate two ATR-72 (Avions de Transport RΓ©gional / Aerei da Trasporto Regionale) aircraft.
(ii) The airport features modern infrastructure, including X-ray machines, Explosive Trace Detection (ETD), Closed-Circuit Television (CCTV) systems, Door Frame Metal Detector (DFMD), Handheld Metal Detector (HHMD), walkie-talkies, Radiotelephony (RT) sets, and a baggage handling system, ensuring passenger convenience and security.
(iii) It offers various passenger facilities, such as Televisions (TVs), a Flight Information Display System (FIDS), a Public Address (PA) system, a reserved lounge, and Wireless Fidelity (Wi-Fi). Additionally, it houses an Emergency Response Centre (ERC) equipped with a fire truck and an ambulance for emergency situations.

- A dedicated Policy Implementation Unit (PIU) will oversee project approvals, incentive distribution, and compliance monitoring.
- Unveiled ahead of the Global Investors Summit (GIS) 2025 in Bhopal, MP, on 24 and 25 February 2025, the GCC Policy 2025 strengthens Madhya Pradeshβs role in India's USD 110 billion GCC market vision for 2030.
- The Madhya Pradesh GCC Policy 2025 aims to transform tier-2 cities like Bhopal, Indore, and Gwalior into global operations centers, offering a competitive edge to businesses looking to expand in India.

CZA Approves Proposal for Establishing India's White Tiger Breeding Centre in Madhya Pradesh.
In January 2025, the Central Zoo Authority (CZA), based in New Delhi (Delhi) under the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change (MoEFCC), approved the proposal to establish India's 1st white tiger breeding centre in the Govindgarh area of Rewa district, Madhya Pradesh (MP).
- This approval came after recommendations from the expert committee of CZA during its 114th meeting in December 2024, followed by the technical committee's approval during its 112th meeting in December 2024.
- The new white tiger breeding facility will be developed as part of the revised Master (Layout) Plan for the Maharaja Martand Singh Judeo White Tiger Safari and Zoo, located in Mukundpur, Satna (MP).
- In 2011, the Government of India (GOI) had given its in-principle approval for establishing a white tiger breeding centre in MP as part of conservation efforts.
Main Point :-
(i) The first white tiger was spotted in the Vindhya region of Madhya Pradesh (MP) in 1915 but sadly died in 1920. In 1951, Maharaja Martand Singh, the former ruler of Rewa, discovered a white tiger in the Govindgarh jungle and named it 'Mohan.' This discovery led to the initiation of conservation efforts, which resulted in the protection and breeding of white tigers in the area.
(ii) The white tiger is not a separate subspecies but a color variant of the Bengal tiger (Panthera tigris tigris), Siberian tiger (Panthera tigris altaica), or a hybrid of the two. It is characterized by white fur, dark brown or black stripes, and blue eyes, with the white coloration resulting from a genetic mutation known as 'leucism.'
(iii) As per the 2022 tiger census, Madhya Pradesh (MP) has the highest number of tigers, followed by Karnataka, Uttarakhand, and Maharashtra. Additionally, MP is home to the worldβs first white tiger safari, established in 2016 at Mukundpur in Satna district.

IIT Indore, in Collaboration with MeitY, Launches 'AgriHub' as a Centre of Excellence (CoE) for Agritech.
In January 2025, the Indian Institute of Technology Indore (IIT-I), Madhya Pradesh (MP), in collaboration with the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), launched 'AgriHub', an Artificial Intelligence (AI)-driven Centre of Excellence (CoE) to foster technological innovation, startup incubation, and industry collaboration in the agritech sector.
- The CoE will leverage AI, Machine Learning (ML), and Deep Learning (DL) to address critical agricultural challenges such as drought, floods, and low productivity while promoting sustainable agriculture in India.
- The inauguration event of AgriHub was graced by S. Krishnan, Secretary, MeitY, as the Chief Guest.
- The project is jointly funded by MeitY and the Government of Madhya Pradesh for a period of five years. It is supported by the MP government, ICAR-IISR Indore (MP), ICAR-CIAE Bhopal (MP), and C-DAC Pune (Maharashtra).

(iii) The project aims to fast-track the varietal development program by providing an integrated platform for genome sequencing and big data analysis. This will assist in developing new crop varieties capable of withstanding adverse climatic conditions and boosting crop production.

Indore and Udaipur Become India's First Cities to Receive Wetland City Accreditation under Ramsar Convention.
In January 2025, during the 64th meeting of the independent Advisory Committee on Wetland City Accreditation (WCA) of the Ramsar Convention held in Gland, Switzerland, the list of 31 newly accredited Wetland Cities was announced. Among these, Indore (Madhya Pradesh, MP) and Udaipur (Rajasthan) became the first two Indian cities to receive the prestigious international accreditation as 'Wetland Cities' under the Ramsar Convention.
- With this, the total number of accredited Wetland Cities worldwide has now reached 74.

(ii) The Wetland City Accreditation (WCA) is a voluntary system established by the Ramsar Convention in 2015 to recognize cities that have taken significant actions to protect and sustainably manage their urban wetlands. To earn this accreditation, cities must meet six international criteria, including measures to protect wetland ecosystems and promote their sustainable use.
(iii) China leads the global list with 22 accredited cities, followed by France with 9 cities.

Madhya Pradesh CM Mohan Yadav Launches Swami Vivekananda Yuva Shakti Mission.
In January 2025, Dr. Mohan Yadav, Chief Minister (CM) of Madhya Pradesh (MP), launched the "Swami Vivekanand Yuva Shakti Mission" on National Youth Day (12th January), commemorating Swami Vivekananda's birth anniversary.
- The launch event was held at the Ravindra Bhavan Auditorium in Bhopal, MP. Alongside the mission, he inaugurated the Swami Vivekananda Yuva Shakti Mission Portal and its theme song.
- The logo of the mission, inspired by its motto, "Atma Deepo Bhava- Samvad, Samarthya, Samriddhi," was unveiled by the CM.
- Dr. Mohan Yadav inaugurated the worldβs largest 3D Rangoli depicting Swami Vivekananda at Shaurya Smarak in Bhopal, MP. The 18,000 sq. ft. artwork was created with eco-friendly natural colors by renowned rangoli artist Shikha Sharma Joshi and her team from Indore, MP.

On January 3, 2025, the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) appointed Faiz Ahmed Kidwai, a 1996-batch Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer of Madhya Pradesh (MP) Cadre, as the Director General (DG) of the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), under the Ministry of Civil Aviation (MoCA), as part of a senior-level bureaucratic reshuffle.

Indore's Devi Ahilyabai Holkar Airport Becomes India's First Zero-Waste Airport.
Devi Ahilyabai Holkar Airport in Indore, Madhya Pradesh (MP), has recently become India's first zero-waste airport with the inauguration of a 3,000-square-foot (sq. ft) Material Recovery Facility (MRF) at the airport by Union Minister Kinjarapu Ram Mohan Naidu, Ministry of Civil Aviation (MOCA).
- The airport's zero-waste milestone is achieved through the 4R strategy: Reduce, Reuse, Recycle, and Restore.
- The Zero-Waste Airport Project is a collaborative effort between IndiGo's corporate social responsibility arm, IndiGoReach, the Airports Authority of India (AAI), and the AAS Foundation, a non-governmental organization promoting sustainable development.
Main Point :-
(i) The MRF incorporates a comprehensive waste management system to segregate and process all wet and dry waste generated by both the airport and aircraft on-site.
(ii) The facility can process approximately 750 kilograms of waste daily from airport operations and flights.
(iii) Alongside the MRF, a new air traffic control tower, constructed at a cost of Rs 55 crore, was also inaugurated.

- PM Modi laid the foundation stone for the Ken-Betwa River Link Project (KBLP) in Khajuraho, Madhya Pradesh. The Union Cabinet had approved Rs 44,605 crore for this project in December 2021.
- PM Modi inaugurated the Omkareshwar Floating Solar Project, which is located in Omkareshwar, Khandwa district, Madhya Pradesh.

The 100th edition of the Tansen Sangeet Samaroh, one of Indiaβs most renowned classical music festivals, took place from December 15 to 19, 2024, in Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh (MP). The festival was organized by the Department of Culture, MP, with Dharmendra Singh, the Culture Minister of MP, as the chief guest at the award ceremony.
- During the event, tabla maestro Padma Shri Pandit Swapan Chaudhuri was honored with the Rashtriya Tansen Samman 2023, and the Sanand Nyas Institution from Indore received the Raja Mansingh Tomar Samman 2023. India's states have exhibited strong economic resilience post-COVID-19, with 25 states recording over 7% growth in their Gross State Domestic Product (GSDP) during FY22 and FY23, as per the PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PHDCCI) report. Among them, 17 states, including Gujarat, Kerala, Telangana, Rajasthan, West Bengal, Bihar, Karnataka, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, and Odisha, achieved an impressive 9% growth rate. The report underscores the sectoral strengths contributing to India's economic growth, highlighting Punjab, Haryana, and Uttar Pradesh as leaders in agricultural production. Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, and Odisha have leveraged their industrial and mineral wealth, while Maharashtra, Gujarat, and Karnataka excel in industrial and technological advancements. Tourism-centric states like Kerala, Rajasthan, and Goa boost foreign exchange earnings. Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan Form Joint Committee for Cheetah Project.
The Governments of Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan have formed a 10-member joint corridor management committee between the two states in response to incidents of cheetahs from Madhya Pradesh (MP) straying into neighboring Rajasthan. The committee aims to create and manage a cheetah corridor between the two states, ensuring the safe movement of cheetahs.
- The committee was formed following incidents of cheetahs straying from MP into Rajasthan in December 2023 and May 2024.
- The panel, co-chaired by the Principal Chief Conservators of Forests (PCCFs) (wildlife) from MP and Rajasthan, has been tasked with identifying the "Cheetah Conservancy Landscape."
Main Points:-
(i) The committee will discuss and formulate a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the two states.
(ii) The primary focus will be on conserving these felines, creating appropriate habitats, and supporting the future relocation of cheetahs from MP's Kuno National Park (KNP) and Gandhi Sagar Wildlife Sanctuary (GSWS).

DoP Launches Commemorative Stamp to Support Sickle Cell Eradication by 2047.
On November 15, 2024, the Department of Posts(DoP), Ministry of Communications (MoC) launched a Special commemorative Postage Stamp of denomination Rs 5 on "Sickle Cell Eradication - 2047" initiative. It was unveiled by Madhya Pradesh (MP) Governor Mangubhai Patel and MP Chief Minister Mohan Yadav.
- The stamp honors MP's initiative to combat the high prevalence of sickle cell anemia, particularly in tribal regions, with the goal of eradicating the disease by 2047.
- The stamp features artwork symbolizing awareness and eradication of sickle cell anemia, emphasizing its impact on tribal communities.
- It displays the slogan "Sickle Cell Eradication - 2047", aligning with the mission's goal to eliminate this hereditary disease by the centenary year of India's independence.
Main Points:-
(i) Sickle Cell Disease (SCD) is a genetic disorder that affects hemoglobin in red blood cells. The mutation produces abnormal hemoglobin known as hemoglobin S, causing red blood cells to become stiff and sticky, which can lead to various health complications.
(ii) Launched in 2023 by Prime Minister (PM) of India Narendra Modi in MP, the Sickle Cell Eradication Mission aims to tackle the widespread prevalence of sickle cell disease in tribal areas.
(iii) It is part of the National Health Mission (NHM), aims to eliminate sickle cell genetic transmission by the year 2047. It is supported by the National Sickle Cell Anemia Eradication Mission (NSCAEM).
