The first National Current Good Manufacturing Practice (CGMP) Day was celebrated on 10 October 2023 at LNCT School of Pharmacy, LNCT Vidyapeeth University. The program started with the inaugural address by Dr. Amit Joshi, Principal, LNCT School of Pharmacy, in which he thanked the entire management of LNCT Group. Pharmaceutical Education pledges our commitment to active adherence to GMP to ensure manufacturing and distribution of medicines of high quality, efficacy and safety. He said quality was traditionally determined by testing that only assured compliance with agreed specifications and could not assure safety and efficacy. Due to these inherent limitations, the product could not be tested for anything inadvertently present. Thus it was realized that quality must be incorporated into the product, and testing alone cannot be relied upon to ensure the quality and safety of the product. GMP regulations were introduced to ensure quality during manufacturing, however, mostly reactively and to deal with tragedies.
