PM Modi inaugurates 6th India Mobile Congress at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi

Hon’ble Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched 5G services in India on 1st October 2022 at the C-DOT pavilion on the occasion of the Indian Mobile Congress (IMC), 2022 at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi. This accomplishment shall provide a boost to India’s digital transformation and would take its connectivity to new heights. Industry-wise 5G use cases were also unveiled by various Telecom service providers, including precision drone-based farming; high-security routers & AI based cyber threat detection platforms; automated guided vehicles; Ambupod – smart ambulance; augmented reality/virtual reality /mix reality in education and skill development; sewage monitoring system; smart-Agri program; and health diagnostics.The Prime Minister also launched the indigenous 5G NSA Core that is developed by the Centre for Development of Telematics (CDoT) and witnessed several technology demonstrations of enterprise 5G solutions, networking equipment, and chipsets developed by large manufacturers, telecom start-ups, and MSMEs.This launch seems aligned with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision to promote ‘AatmaNirbhar Bharat’, ‘Jai Anusandhan’, and ‘Sabka Saath, Sabka Vishwaas’ in India. This milestone possesses huge possibilities for India to bring transformational changes in various fields like health, agriculture, transport, education, financial inclusion, smart cities, etc.
