Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurates the second edition of World Food India in New Delhi

The Prime Minister also inaugurated the Food Street at World Food India 2023. It showcased regional cuisine and the royal culinary heritage, where over 200 chefs participated and presented traditional Indian dishes. Food Processing Industries Minister Pashupati Kumar Paras said, under the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the food processing sector is witnessing unprecedented growth. He urged foreign investors to invest in this sector in India. Food and Public Distribution Minister Piyush Goyal said, Modi government has ensured the food security of the country and has also promoted the food processing sector. He highlighted the development work done by the Central Government in the last nine years. The Prime Minister pointed out that in the last nine years, the share of processed foods in India's agricultural exports has increased from 13 per cent to 23 per cent, leading to an overall increase of 150 per cent in exported processed foods. Shri Modi said, today India is at 7th position with total export value of agricultural produce of more than 50 thousand million dollars. ​
