Women's Reservation Bill 2023 gets President Draupdi Murmu's assent.

President Droupadi Murmu has given her assent to the women's reservation bill which seeks to provide 33 per cent reservation to women in the Lok Sabha and state assemblies. According to a law ministry notification issued, the president gave her assent. it will be officially known as the Constitution (106th Amendment) Act. According to its provision, "It shall come into force on such date as the central government may, by notification in the Official Gazette, appoint."The Government of India released a gazette notification confirming that the Bill has become an Act after President Murmu's approval. The Women's Reservation Bill is officially known as Nari Shakti Vandan Adhiniyam. The law proposes to reserve one-third of the seats in Lok Sabha and all state assemblies for women.
