Skyroot signs two agreements with French space firm to launch satellites
International
Indian firm Skyroot Aerospace rose to fame by launching India's first privately built rocket 'Vikram-S'. After a successful upper-atmospheric rocket launch mission in November 2022 that helped them prove their fundamental technology, the firm promised to launch a more advanced rocket 'Vikram-1' that will orbit satellites in space. This first spacecraft rocket launch is planned for the first quarter of 2024. Skyroot has also signed a deal to launch satellites of French firms Prometheus Earth Intelligence and ConnectSat. These MoUs were signed at the Skyroot facility in Hyderabad, as part of the visit of the French trade delegation. As a result of these agreements, French companies will be able to use pay-and-launch services offered by Skyroot's Vikram series of rockets. The commercial terms and specifics of the agreement are to be worked out between the firms. The agreement to launch French satellites does not include a single mission.
