World Computer Literacy Day is celebrated every year on 2 December to support initiatives to promote digital literacy and provide computer training to those in need.

Important Days

World Computer Literacy Day was first observed in December 2001 to promote digital education and raise awareness about the use of computers. The advent of digital technology has changed our lives forever. From financial transactions to online classes and from shopping to availing major government schemes, we have become more dependent on computers and internet for many important tasks of daily life. With increasing dependence on digital technology, learning computers is inevitable for everyone. World Computer Literacy Day is celebrated every year to promote digital literacy and support initiatives to provide computer training to those who cannot afford it. The day aims to empower women and deprived sections of the society with knowledge and information to make them a part of the increasingly technology dependent world.
