Bandhan Bank board approves reappointment of Chandra Shekhar Ghosh as MD and CEO

The board of Bandhan Bank has approved the reappointment of Chandra Shekhar Ghosh as Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer (MD and CEO) of the Kolkata-based bank for a period of three years. The private sector lender, in its regulatory filing, said Ghosh's current tenure as MD and CEO of the bank will end on July 09, 2024, and in terms of regulatory provisions, an application for re-appointment of the MD and CEO will have to be made. Ghosh has over three decades of experience in the microfinance, banking and development sector. Private sector lender Bandhan Bank on October 18 reported a net profit of Rs 721.20 crore in the July-September quarter of the current financial year, up 244 per cent from Rs 209.3 crore in the same period last year. The bank's gross non-performing assets (GNPA) increased by 14.8 percent year-on-year in the quarter under review. In absolute terms, gross NPAs stood at Rs 7,874 crore in the July-September quarter, compared to Rs 6,854 crore in the year-ago period. Gross NPA in the last quarter stood at Rs 6,961 crore. ​
