India successfully conducted the second test of its indigenous naval anti-ship missile after its initial tests in May last year. The test was a collaborative effort between the Defense Research and Development Organization (DRDO) and the Indian Navy. The video by the Indian Navy shows the missile launch from a Sea King 42B helicopter. The missile integrates various advanced technologies, including an indigenous launcher for the helicopter and a guidance system containing state-of-the-art navigation and integrated avionics. Additionally, in October the Indian Navy announced preparations for the inaugural test of a new long-range anti-ship missile developed by the DRDO, which has a range of 500 km – longer than the BrahMos missile. BrahMos, an Indo-Russian cruise missile, originally had a range of 290 km, but now claims an extended range of 350 to 400 km. The surface-to-air missile was a collaborative effort between the Defense Research and Development Organization (DRDO) and Israeli Aerospace Industries (IAI), and was manufactured at Bharat Dynamics Limited (BDL).
