In an important step to progress the National Green Hydrogen Mission, the Government has notified the Green Hydrogen Standard for India. The standard issued by the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) of the Government of India outlines the emissions limits that must be met for hydrogen produced from renewable sources to be classified as 'green'. The notification also specifies that the Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE) of the Ministry of Power will be the nodal authority for accreditation of agencies for monitoring, verification and certification of green hydrogen production projects.
