Nagaland Government has created three new districts namely Tseminyu, Nuiland and Chumukedima. The state has now a total of 15 districts. Tseminyu became the 13th district followed by Nuiland and Chumukedima as 14th and 15th Districts respectively. The decision was taken during a state cabinet meeting held under the leadership of Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio at Kohima. While the Tseminyu sub-division in Kohima district has been upgraded to a district, Niuland and Chumukedima have been carved out of Dimapur district.
