3 Indian technology experts named in 39-member UN high-level advisory body on AI

Eminent technology experts from India have been named in the new AI advisory body announced by the UN Secretary General. This AI advisory body was announced by United Nations Secretary General Antonio Guterres on Thursday. This institution will support the efforts of the international community to regulate Artificial Intelligence. The high-level multi-stakeholder advisory body on AI announced by the UN chief includes experts from government, private sector, research firms, civil society and academia. The advisory body includes technology experts from India Amandeep Singh Gill, Sharad Sharma, co-founder of ISPIRT Foundation and Nazneen Rajni, lead researcher from Hugging Face, India as members. The body will serve as a bridge to other existing and emerging initiatives on AI governance and will release its recommendations by the end of 2023, ahead of future summits.
