Apollinaris D'Souza honored with 19th Artist Pushkar Award

The 19th 'Artist Awards' ceremony jointly presented by Mand Shobhan and 'Carvalho Gharana' was held in Kalangan. Singer, lyricist and composer Apollinaris D'Souza was honored with Rs 50,000 in cash, a shawl, fruits, flowers, a citation and a memento. Apollinaris said, "Music came naturally to my family, as my elders and siblings all worked in the music field. With that encouragement and inspiration, I was also able to achieve something when I was Catholic. . The ceremonies were converted from Latin to Konkani. The opportunity to translate the hymns into Konkani was provided to me. I also got the opportunity to work with Eric Ozario. It is Eric's unlimited encouragement to the artistes that gave birth to Konkani music. On the same occasion, young singer Alani D'Souza, who became popular on social media, was also honored with a cash prize sponsored by Kalaignan President Ronald Mendonca for his rendition of the song 'Monam Monam' from the movie 'Osmite'. ​
