Hindustan Aeronautics Limited and Airbus sign contract to set up MRO facility for A-320 aircraft

Defense PSU Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) and Airbus have signed a contract to set up MRO (maintenance, repair and overhaul) facilities for the A320 family aircraft. “This collaboration with the largest European aircraft manufacturing company will strengthen the Make-in-India mission by achieving self-reliance in the aircraft MRO industry in India. Under the collaboration, Airbus will supply the A320 family tool package and MRO facility for the family of aircraft. Airbus has partnered with Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) to support the growth of the aircraft maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) industry in India. The partnership aims to meet the growing demand for MRO services for commercial aircraft, especially the A320 family. Airbus will provide HAL a tool package and consultancy services to set up the MRO, as well as access to its digital platform, AirbusWorld. HAL's Nashik division already has civil MRO capabilities, making it well placed to drive growth in this sector.
