Ministry of Information and Broadcasting approves Comprehensive Digital Advertising Policy 2023 to empower Central Bureau of Communications

Goverment Scheme

The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting has approved a path-breaking 'Digital Advertising Policy, 2023' to enable and empower the Central Bureau of Communications, the advertising arm of the Government of India, to run campaigns in the digital media sector. This policy marks an important moment in CBC's mission to disseminate information and create awareness about various schemes, programs and policies of the Government of India in response to the emerging media landscape and increasing digitalization of media consumption. The policy will enable CBC to expand its reach on OTT and video-on-demand, leading to the listing of agencies and organizations in the region. CBC will also be able to take advantage of the growing number of listeners on podcast and digital audio platforms through a panel of digital audio platforms. Apart from rationalizing its process of listing internet websites, CBC will now be able to broadcast its public service campaign messages through a mobile application for the first time.
