NASA successfully launched the PACE (Plankton, Aerosol, Cloud, ocean Ecosystem) satellite aboard a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket. The mission aims to study how the exchange of carbon dioxide between the ocean and atmosphere affects the climate. It will also monitor the health of microscopic algae (phytoplankton).
