The Assam government has launched the "Mukhyamantri Mahila Udyamita Abhiyan" to transform rural women associated with Self-Help Groups (SHGs) into "Rural Micro Entrepreneurs". The scheme aims to help 39 lakh women achieve an annual income of Rs 1 lakh, terming them as "Lakhpati Baideos" (Sisters).
