The Ministry of Steel, in collaboration with the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE), has launched India's first "Green Hydrogen Pilot Project" in the steel sector. The pilot, located at the SAIL plant in Rourkela, Odisha, aims to replace coal with green hydrogen in the Direct Reduced Iron (DRI) making process.
