Rear Admiral CR Praveen Nair takes command as Fleet Commander, Western Fleet of the Indian Navy

Rear Admiral CR Praveen Nair, NM takes over as the Flag Officer Commanding, Western Fleet from Rear Admiral Vineet McCarty at a ceremonial naval parade. Flag Officer Commanding Naval Academy, Goa, Defense Services Staff College, Wellington and US Naval War College, Newport, USA. He is an alumnus of IPL and has served as a Flag Officer here. As a communications and electronic warfare specialist, he has served on Indian Navy ships Krishna, Kora and Mysore. He has also served as Fleet Electronic Warfare Officer and Fleet Communications Officer of the Western Fleet and Fleet Operations Officer of the Eastern Fleet. He has wide experience in the field of naval training with tenure as Director Staff at Talwar Class Training Team, Naval War College, Goa and Officer-in-Charge of Signal School, Kochi. He has also served as Commodore (Personnel) at Naval Headquarters. Rear Admiral Nair has commanded the missile corvette INS Kirch, aircraft carrier INS Vikramaditya and guided missile destroyer INS Chennai. ​
