Iran has suspended the visa-free entry facility for Indian citizens, effective November 2, 2025. The decision, announced by Iran's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, was primarily taken due to concerns that the facility, initially intended for tourism, was being misused by human traffickers to bring Indians into the country for illegal job placements. Previously, India and Iran had established a bilateral arrangement allowing Indians a 15-day visa-free stay with one entry every six months. Following this suspension, Indian citizens must now obtain a valid visa before travelling to Iran.
