India and China held the 29th meeting of the Working Mechanism for Consultation & Coordination on India-China Border Affairs (WMCC). The talks, held in Beijing, focused on achieving complete disengagement at the remaining friction points along the Line of Actual Control (LAC) in Eastern Ladakh. The Indian delegation, led by the MEA Joint Secretary, stressed that the complete restoration of status quo ante and de-escalation are essential prerequisites for normalizing bilateral relations. While both sides agreed to maintain peace and tranquility, full resolution remains pending at key areas like Depsang Plains and Demchok.
