The Chief Minister of Odisha, Mohan Charan Majhi, inaugurated the setup for India's first end-to-end Silicon Carbide (SiC) semiconductor manufacturing plant at Info Valley, Bhubaneswar. The plant, established by SiCSem Private Limited with an investment of ₹2,067 crore, is approved under the India Semiconductor Mission (ISM). It is focused on producing high-value SiC chips, which are essential components for Electric Vehicles (EVs), 5G networks, and advanced defence applications, promoting self-reliance in this critical sector.
