The International Institute for Management Development (IMD) unveiled its 2023 World Digital Competitiveness Ranking (WDCR), revealing India's 49th position among 64 economies. According to the IMD study, India has made significant progress in terms of cyber security knowledge, but lacks on fronts such as technology and future preparedness. The Netherlands climbed four places to second place, while Singapore, which leads the technology factor, remained in third place. Denmark, the previous overall leader, slipped to fourth place due to a decline in future preparedness and technology factors. Switzerland maintained its top position by excelling in the knowledge factor and joined the top five. In the Asia-Pacific region, India has fallen from 11th to 12th among 14 countries in the last four years. Globally, among 27 countries with a population of more than 20 million, India is now ranked 18th, down two places from last year. Examining India's performance, the nation showed improvement in cybersecurity knowledge, especially talent, training and education.
