India Wins 2025 SAFF Under-17 Men’s Football Championship, Defeating Bangladesh.

India won the 10th edition of the SAFF Under-17 Men’s Football Championship 2025, held from September 20 to 27 at the Racecourse International Stadium, Colombo, Sri Lanka. The Indian U-17 team defeated Bangladesh in the final via a penalty shootout, claiming their seventh SAFF U-17 title.


      - The 2025 SAFF U-17 Championship featured seven teams – Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Maldives, Nepal, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka – competing in a round-robin format followed by the final to determine the winner.

      - The final ended in a 2-2 draw, with India winning 4-1 in the penalty shootout against Bangladesh. Goals for India were scored by Dallamuon Gangte and Azlaan Shah KH, while Md Manik and Ihsan Habib Riduan scored for Bangladesh.

     

Main Point :-   (i) India’s team, coached by Bibiano Fernandes, secured his fifth SAFF title as head coach. The team’s strong performance in penalties ensured victory in the final.

      (ii) India received the Fair Play Award for the tournament. This victory marked India’s seventh SAFF U-17 championship title, highlighting their dominance in regional youth football.

(iii) Key individual awards included: Md Abdullah (Pakistan) – Highest Goal Scorer with 6 goals; Nazmul Huda Faysal (Bangladesh) – Most Valuable Player; Md Alif Rahman Imtiage (Bangladesh) – Best Goalkeeper; Ihsan Habib Riduan (Bangladesh) – Player of the Final.
