Quant Mutual Fund Launches India’s First Equity Long-Short Specialised Investment Fund.

On 17 September 2025, Quant Mutual Fund (MF), managed by Quant Money Managers Limited (QMML), launched India’s first Equity Long-Short Specialised Investment Fund (SIF) named ‘QSIF Equity Long-Short Fund’, offering investors access to advanced strategies for both rising and falling markets.


      - QSIF Equity Long-Short Fund is an open-ended fund that invests in listed equities and related instruments without restriction on company size.

      - It uses a flexible strategy to capitalize on both bullish and bearish market trends and employs derivatives for limited short positions to manage risk and enhance returns.

     

Main Point :-   (i) The New Fund Offer (NFO) is open from 17 September 2025 to 1 October 2025. The minimum investment amount is Rs. 10 lakhs, targeting high-net-worth investors interested in sophisticated equity strategies.

      (ii) The fund’s performance will be benchmarked against the Nifty 500 Total Return Index. It is managed by experienced professionals: Sandeep Tandon, Lokesh Garg, Sameer Kate, Ankit Pande, and Sanjeev Sharma.

(iii) QSIF Equity Long-Short Fund falls under the SIF category, recently introduced by the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI), which allows investors to access advanced investment strategies with regulatory approval for sophisticated fund structures.
