Union Minister Piyush Goyal Launches Six Key Initiatives and Releases India’s First Coloured Coin to Mark 10 Years of Make in India.

In September 2025, Union Minister Piyush Goyal, Ministry of Commerce and Industry (MoC&I), launched six major initiatives and released a Rs.100 commemorative coin, India’s first-ever coloured coin, celebrating the 10th anniversary of the Make in India initiative.


      - The initiatives aim to boost logistics efficiency, industrial competitiveness, and infrastructure development.

      - Prepared by the National Council of Applied Economic Research (NCAER) for the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT), Ministry of Commerce and Industry (MoC&I), the report estimates logistics costs by transport mode, product type, and firm size, including freight cost per tonne-kilometre.

      - Developed by DPIIT, MoC&I with support from the Asian Development Bank (ADB), IPRS 3.0 enhances competitiveness by ranking industrial parks based on performance and aims to strengthen India’s industrial infrastructure ecosystem.

Main Point :-   (i) Created by NICDC Logistics Data Services (NLDSL), LDB 2.0 offers real-time export container tracking and multimodal shipment visibility.

      (ii) This annual survey evaluates logistics performance across States and Union Territories (UTs). LEADS 2025 introduced new features to benchmark state logistics capacity, aligning with India’s vision of becoming a globally competitive logistics hub.

(iii) Piyush Goyal released a guidebook mapping 12,167 Harmonized System of Nomenclature (HSN) codes across 31 Ministries and Departments. The Government of India also launched State and City Logistics Plans (S&CLP) under the SMILE (Support for Marginalized Individuals for Livelihood and Enterprise) programme with Asian Development Bank (ADB) support, starting with eight cities in eight states.
