India Tops 16th Asian Shooting Championship 2025 in Kazakhstan with Record 50 Gold Medals.

India created history by securing the top position in the 16th Asian Shooting Championship 2025, held from August 16 to 30 at the Shymkent Shooting Plaza, Kazakhstan. With a record-breaking medal tally, India outperformed all participating nations in both senior and junior shooting events.
- India’s contingent of 35 senior shooters and 129 junior shooters showcased outstanding performances, winning a total of 99 medals that included 50 gold, 26 silver, and 23 bronze. This was the first time India topped the medal tally at the Asian Shooting Championship.
- The championship witnessed participation from 748 athletes representing 27 countries across Asia, making it one of the largest competitive platforms for shooting at the continental level. India’s dominance highlighted its growing strength in precision sports.
Main Point :- (i) Kazakhstan secured the second position in the medal tally with 21 gold, 24 silver, and 25 bronze medals, totaling 70. China ranked third with 37 medals, followed by Korea with 55 and Iran with 17 medals.
(ii) The championship was organized by the Asian Shooting Confederation (ASC) in partnership with the International Shooting Sport Federation (ISSF) and the Kazakhstan Shooting Sport Federation, ensuring global-level standards of competition and fair play.
(iii) The event not only boosted India’s sporting reputation in Asia but also underlined the success of grassroots-level shooting development programs and government support through initiatives of the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports and the National Rifle Association of India (NRAI).
