Sanjay Seth Inaugurates MILMEDICON-2025 in New Delhi to Strengthen Military Medicine and Trauma Care.

On August 28, 2025, Shri Sanjay Seth, the Union Minister of State for Defence, inaugurated MILMEDICON-2025 at the Manekshaw Centre in New Delhi. Organized by the Directorate General of Medical Services (Army), this international conference focused on physical and mental trauma in military settings. The event brought together experts to discuss innovations and challenges in military medicine.


      - The conference also commemorated the centenary of the Military Nursing Service, highlighting the role of women in combat and leadership roles.

      - The two-day conference, held on August 28–29, 2025, was part of the Ministry of Defence's "Year of Reforms." It aimed to strengthen international cooperation and enhance trauma care capabilities in military operational settings.

      - The event featured discussions on advanced combat trauma care, the integration of artificial intelligence in military healthcare, and innovative trends in emergency and battlefield medical response.

Main Point :-   (i) Representatives from over 15 foreign countries participated in panel discussions, poster presentations, and a scientific gallery exhibition. This international participation underscored the global commitment to advancing military medicine. Senior dignitaries from the Indian Armed Forces, international military medical delegations, civilian healthcare experts, and academia also took part in the deliberations.

      (ii) In his inaugural address, Shri Sanjay Seth emphasized India's determination to advance military medicine through global collaboration, cutting-edge research, and respect for the legacy of service. He described the conference as both a tribute to the sacrifices of India's soldiers and a step toward future-ready healthcare solutions.

(iii) MILMEDICON-2025 served as a strategic initiative to foster collaboration, innovation, and global knowledge exchange in the field of military medicine. The conference's focus on trauma care and medical innovation aimed to enhance the preparedness and resilience of military personnel in challenging environments.
