At the 2025 Professional Footballers’ Association (PFA) Awards in Manchester, Mohamed Salah of Liverpool clinched the Men’s Player of the Year—becoming the first-ever three-time winner—while Arsenal newcomer Mariona Caldentey was honoured as Women’s Player of the Year after a stellar debut season.


      - Mohamed Salah made history by winning the PFA Men’s Player of the Year for the third time—a first in the award’s history—after an outstanding 2024-25 season in which he recorded 29 Premier League goals and 18 assists, leading Liverpool to the title.

      - In her first season with Arsenal, Spain’s Mariona Caldentey secured the Women’s Player of the Year award. She scored 19 goals across competitions and helped the club win the Champions League, ending an 18-year European title drought by defeating her former side Barcelona in the final.

     

Main Point :-   (i) Aston Villa’s Morgan Rogers received the Men's Young Player of the Year award after a breakthrough season, while Arsenal’s Olivia Smith was named Women’s Young Player of the Year following a world-record transfer from Liverpool. Burnley’s James Trafford became the first goalkeeper to win Championship Player of the Year.

      (ii) Liverpool’s dominance continued with four players—Salah, Virgil van Dijk, Ryan Gravenberch, and Alexis Mac Allister—making the PFA Men’s Team of the Year, alongside new signing Milos Kerkez. Arsenal defenders William Saliba, Gabriel Magalhaes, and midfielder Declan Rice were also featured in the Premier League Team of the Year.

(iii) The ceremony in Manchester was a star-studded celebration. Salah’s third win cemented his legacy, while Caldentey’s emergence highlighted her rapid rise. The event underscored both men’s and women’s football progress, elevating players who delivered standout performances in a memorable 2024-25 season.
