India and Singapore Deepen Strategic Partnership at 3rd Ministerial Roundtable.

In August 2025, India hosted the 3rd India–Singapore Ministerial Roundtable (ISMR) in New Delhi to review and advance the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between the two nations. The meeting focused on deepening cooperation in trade, technology, and regional security.


      - The Indian delegation included Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar, Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal, and Railways & IT Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw.

      - Singapore was represented by Deputy Prime Minister Gan Kim Yong, Foreign Minister Dr. Vivian Balakrishnan, Home Affairs Minister K. Shanmugam, and other senior ministers.

     

Main Point :-   (i) The ISMR, launched in September 2022, serves as a structured platform for high-level dialogue. The first round was held in New Delhi, the second in Singapore in August 2024, and this third edition continued the momentum in 2025.

      (ii) Key areas of discussion included digitalization, skills development, sustainability, healthcare, advanced manufacturing, and connectivity. Both sides agreed to expand cooperation in fintech, green energy, and cyber security.

(iii) The meeting also marked the 60th anniversary of diplomatic relations between India and Singapore and set the stage for Singapore Prime Minister Lawrence Wong’s visit to India in September 2025.
