Deepak and Naman Tanwar Win Gold as India Bags 8 Medals at Thailand Open Boxing 2025.

At the 4th edition of the Thailand Open International Boxing Tournament, held from May 24 to June 1, 2025, in Bangkok, Thailand, Indian boxers Deepak and Naman Tanwar clinched gold medals, showcasing stellar performances on the international stage. The tournament was conducted under the aegis of World Boxing-backed Asian Boxing.


      - India concluded the event with an impressive total of 8 medals, comprising 2 gold, 1 silver, and 5 bronze.

      - A 19-member Indian contingent participated in this prestigious event, competing against top boxing talent from nations such as China, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, South Korea, and host country Thailand.

     

Main Point :-   (i) Deepak secured gold in the men’s 75 kg category with a dominant 5:0 win over Uzbekistan’s Abdurakhimov Javokhir. Naman Tanwar also clinched gold in the men’s 90 kg category, defeating China’s Han Xuezhen with a 4:1 score in the final bout.

      (ii) In the women’s 80+ kg category, Kiran earned a silver medal after a close 2:3 loss in the final against Kazakhstan’s Veldana Talipova.

(iii) Five Indian boxers bagged bronze medals — Tamanna (51 kg), Priya (57 kg), Sanju (60 kg), Saneh (70 kg), and Lalfakmawii Ralte (80 kg), contributing to India’s overall medal tally at the tournament.
