ILO-NASK Release Inaugural Report Highlighting GenAI's Impact on Global Employment.

In May 2025, the International Labour Organisation (ILO), headquartered in Geneva, Switzerland, in collaboration with Poland-based National Research Institute (NASK), released their first report titled "Generative AI and Jobs: A Refined Global Index of Occupational Exposure."
- The report highlights that one in four jobs (25%) globally is at risk of being transformed by Generative Artificial Intelligence (GenAI).
- The report emphasizes that GenAI is more likely to transform existing jobs rather than replace them, signifying a major shift in job functions rather than large-scale job loss.
Main Point :- (i) High-Income Countries (HICs) are more exposed, with 34% of jobs in GenAI-impacted occupations, compared to only 11% in Low-Income Countries (LICs).
(ii) The report combines over 30,000 occupational tasks with expert reviews, AI scoring, and ILO micro data to present a refined analysis of GenAI exposure across job sectors.
(iii) Women face greater GenAI exposure than men globally—4.7% of women’s jobs are in the highest-risk category, compared to 2.4% for men.
