In March 2025, the Ministry of Law and Justice (MoL&J) notified the appointment of Justice Harish Tandon as the Chief Justice (CJ) of the Orissa High Court (HC). The appointment was made under Article 217(1) of the Constitution of India by Smt. Droupadi Murmu, the President of India.
