In February 2025, the Government of India (GOI) received the prestigious 'Prince Michael Decade of Action Road Safety Award' at the 4th Ministerial Conference on Road Safety held in Marrakech, Morocco. This is the highest award in the field of road safety. India shared this honor with the Kingdom of Morocco, as both countries were recognized for their efforts in improving road safety.

- The conference was organized by the Kingdom of Morocco and the World Health Organization (WHO). The theme of the conference was "Commit to Life."
- The conference brought together transportation leaders from various countries to create a strategic plan aimed at reducing global road fatalities by 50% by 2030, focusing on international collaboration to improve road safety.

(i) India was recognized for its progress in vehicle safety since 2014. This includes introducing a 'new car safety assessment program' and making 'Anti-lock Braking Systems' (ABS) mandatory in all new 2-wheelers.
