In February 2025, the Rajasthan government renamed a lake and a building in Ajmer, Rajasthan, both over a century old and previously named during British rule. The 132-year-old Foy Sagar Lake was renamed Varun Sagar, and the 113-year-old King Edward Memorial Bhawan was renamed Maharishi Dayanand Vishrant Grih.

  • - Foy Sagar Lake was built in 1892 as a famine relief project and was named after a British engineer, Foy, during British rule. It has now been renamed in honor of Lord Varun, the god of water.
