Jammu and Kashmir (J&K) Bank Limited has appointed Amitava Chatterjee as its new Managing Director (MD) and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) for a term of three years, effective from 30th December 2024. He will succeed Baldev Prakash, whose term concludes on 29th December 2024.

- Amitava Chatterjee is currently serving as the Deputy Managing Director the State Bank of India (SBI) and has previously held the position of MD & CEO at SBI Capital Markets Limited (SBICAPS).

- He brings over 30 years of extensive banking experience, having held strategic roles across different regions.

Main Point :-

(i) Amitava Chatterjee career includes leading SBI's operations as Chief General Manager (CGM) in the New Delhi Circle, Delhi, and Jaipur Circle, Rajasthan.

(ii) He has managed high-profile clients, including Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs), Non-Banking Financial Companies (NBFCs), and Distribution Companies (DISCOMs).
