The Board of Directors of Kotak Mahindra Bank Limited appointed Ashok Vaswani as Director, Managing Director and CEO of the Bank and a key managerial personnel for a period of three years with effect from January 1

Kotak Mahindra Bank announced that the Reserve Bank of India has approved the appointment of Ashok Vaswani as Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the bank. The bank said the appointment, subject to shareholders' approval, will be for a period of three years from the date of assumption of charge, not earlier than January 1, 2024. Ashok Vaswani has extensive experience as a banker and previously served as Chief Executive Officer of Barclays Bank, UK and then as CEO of their global consumer, private, corporate and payments businesses and a member of the Group Executive Committee. Ashok Vaswani was the CEO of Citigroup Asia Pacific and a member of the Citigroup Global Operating and Management Committee. He also built and operated various country and regional businesses in different geographies. Ashok Vaswani holds a Bachelor of Commerce, Economics and Accountancy from Sydenham College of Commerce and Economics (Bombay University), a CA from the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India, a BA from the Institute of Completed CS and an Executive Education from the Institute of Company Secretaries of India.
