17th Urban Mobility India Conference & Expo takes place in Gandhinagar, Gujarat.

Bhupendra Patel, Chief Minister (CM) of Gujarat, inaugurated the 17th Urban Mobility India (UMI) Conference & Exhibition (2024) at the Mahatma Mandir Convention Centre in Gandhinagar, Gujarat.

🎯 Key Highlights:

  • - The theme of the 2024 conference is 'Standardization and Optimization of Urban Transport Solutions'.
  • - The Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs (MoHUA) organized the UMI 2024 in collaboration with the Institute of Urban Transport (India) and with the support of the Government of Gujarat and Gujarat Metro Rail Corporation (GMRC) Limited. The event was held from 25th October to 27th October 2024.
  • - During the closing ceremony, the winners of the 'Best Practices Project in Urban Transport' were awarded to state and city authorities in a total of 9 categories.

  • (i) Bhubaneswar (Odisha) was awarded the title of the 'City with the Best Public Transport System' at the Urban Mobility India (UMI) Conference & Exhibition 2024.
  • (ii) This marks the sixth time (2019, 2020, 2021, 2022 & 2023) an Odisha government initiative, led by Capital Region Urban Transport (CRUT), has earned national recognition as one of the top urban mobility programs.
