MSDE Partners with Meta for AI Assistant in Skill India Mission and Establishes Five Centers of Excellence in NSTIs.

The Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE) has partnered with Meta, the parent company of Facebook, to advance the Skill India Mission through the creation of an Artificial Intelligence (AI) Assistant and the establishment of five Centers of Excellence (CoEs) focused on Virtual Reality (VR) and Mixed Reality (MR) technologies.

  • - Five CoEs will be set up at National Skill Training Institutes (NSTIs) located in Hyderabad (Telangana), Bengaluru (Karnataka), Jodhpur (Rajasthan), Chennai (Tamil Nadu), and Kanpur (Uttar Pradesh).

  • (i) This collaboration seeks to leverage cutting-edge technology to enhance skill development training and accessibility for learners across India.
  • (ii) As part of this initiative, an AI-powered chatbot will be developed using Meta’s open-source Llama model. This chatbot will be integrated into the Skill India Digital (SID) Portal to provide 24/7 support, offering users instant access to course information and learning resources.
  • (iii) These centers will also equip instructors and learners with advanced VR technology, providing a more immersive and engaging training experience.
