Amazon and DGFT sign MoU to leverage districts as export hubs to promote MSME exports from India

In a significant step to enable Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) and promote e-commerce exports from the country, the Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT), Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Government of India is collaborating with various e-commerce platforms. Used to be. In the first such collaboration with various e-commerce platforms, DGFT has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Amazon India. The initiative aims to connect local producers, even in rural and remote districts, to global supply chains. The objective of this collaboration is to enable exporters/MSMEs to sell their 'Made in India' products to customers internationally. The main objective of this collaboration is to leverage e-commerce platforms to support local exporters, manufacturers and MSMEs in reaching out to potential international buyers. The partnership is in line with the Foreign Trade Policy 2023, which identifies e-commerce as a focus area to enhance India's exports. ​
