On January 7, 2022, Raksha Mantri Shri Rajnath Singh flagged off India's first multi-dimensional adventure sports expedition in France, organised by the National Institute of Mountaineering and Allied Sports (NIMAS). The mission took place in November 2021, with a team of 12 persons eight Army officials and four Arunachal Pradesh teenagers led by Director of NIMAS Colonel Sarfaraz Singh. The expedition team trekked nearly 250 kilometres in the Alps Mountain Ranges, including the Tour De Mont Blanc excursion, which took them across the French, Swiss, and Italian Alps.
