Sojat Mehndi from Rajasthan has received the geographical indication (GI) tag from the government that helps growers of this product get a premium price as no other producer can use the name to market similar goods. Sojat Mehndi originates from mehndi leaves grown in Sojat. Judima, the wine brewed by the Dimasa community in Assam, has been awarded the GI tag. This wine made from rice and a certain herb is the first beverage from the north-east to earn this label. Nagaland’s cucumber was awarded a GI tag. The cucumber is one of the most important crops in the Northeast region.
