Union Minister Shri Pralhad Joshi mentioned that 20 Mineral Blocks have already been put on auction in the first tranche and many more are on the pipeline. The success of the auction would be crucial in the revenue generation for the state, creation of jobs, welfare of local communities and indigenous people, fostering collaboration among industry, academia, and government to strengthen supply chain of critical minerals. MoS Shri Raosaheb Patil Danve addressed the gathering after the launch and emphasized that the launch of the National Geoscience Data Repository will mark a significant milestone on the exploration journey of India.

The portal integrates 35 map services and data layers with NGDR Portal including Geological map in various scales, geochemical, ground geophysical, airborne geophysical and mineral data layers.

the council is headed by prime minister Narendra Modi and consists of 29 members, including the prime minister. The council is subject to the Parliament of India.
