Ashok Vaswani appointed as new MD and CEO of Kotak Mahindra Bank Limited

The Reserve Bank of India has approved the appointment of Ashok Vaswani as Managing Director and CEO of Kotak Mahindra Bank (KMB) for a period of three years. That will happen no earlier than Jan. 1, 2024, Camby said in a certified filing. Vaswani holds a graduate degree in Commerce, Economics and Finance from Sydenham College of Commerce and Economics (Bombay University), a CA from the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India, a CS from the Institute of Company Kentz of India and a degree in Executive Education. Vavani was the Chief Executive Officer of Barclays Bank, UK and later CEO of their global Client, Private, Corporate and Payments Forum and a member of the Group Executive Committee. Previously, he was CEO Citigroup Asia Pacific and a member of the Citigroup Global Operating and Finance Committees. Currently, he is the Chairman of Pagaya Technologies Ltd. – a US-Israel fintech.
