CK Gopinathan, a board director and one of the major shareholders of Kerala-based Dhanalakshmi Bank, died of a heart attack on November 27. Gopinathan holds 7.5 per cent stake in the bank till September 2023 and is allowed to hold up to 9.99 per cent stake. Gopinathan was appointed to the board with effect from August 2016. Gopinathan has over 25 years of experience in the banking and finance sectors. Earlier, Gopinathan was a director at Catholic Syrian Bank for almost eight years from September 26, 2008 to July 20, 2016. Additionally, Gopinathan was the Director of C.K.G Supermarket Limited and the Managing Director of C.K.G Securities and Investments Limited. Gopinathan has large investments in various major companies across the state.
