Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik launched the much talked about LAccMI bus from Gajapati district and flagged off the bus service. The golden chapter in the history of transport development of Odisha began on October 12, 2023 in Bonda Valley of Malkangiri district. After the scheme is launched from Malkangiri, more than 1,000 buses will be deployed in various phases to transport people across the state. The state government has allocated Rs 3,178 crore to run buses under the LAccMI scheme. In the state cabinet meeting chaired by the Chief Minister on September 15, the government had approved the expenditure of Rs 3 thousand 178 crore for the LAccMI scheme from 2023-24 to 2025-26. This fund has been approved. It has been decided to provide funding for the next two years based on performance.
