Amazon Launches Internet Satellite Prototypes for Network Constellation

Science and Technology

The Kuiper network, set to rival SpaceX's Starlink service, has faced several delays due to issues with the rockets that carry satellites into orbit. Amazon has launched the first two prototype satellites for its Kuiper Networks constellation. As part of its protoflight mission, the company launched the Kuipersat-1 and Kuipersat-2 satellites into orbit 310 miles above Earth on Friday from Cape Canaveral, Florida. The launch was livestreamed by United Launch Alliance, with the video ending after liftoff.
