Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar on Tuesday resigned from the post of director of Pune District Central Cooperative (PDCC) Bank. Citing increased workload after becoming Deputy Chief Minister, Pawar decided to resign from the post of Director. Bank President Dr. Digambar Durgade said that he has a responsibility in the party. The Nationalist Congress Party leader was the director of the bank since 1991 and under his leadership it made remarkable progress and became the number one bank in the co-operative sector in the country. The statement said that when Pawar became the director, the turnover of the bank was Rs 558 crore and now it is Rs 20,714 crore. Notably, Ajit Pawar had split the Sharad Pawar-led NCP in July this year when he joined the Shiv Sena-BJP government.
