DAHD launches A-HELP program to empower women and signs MoU with NRLM in Jharkhand

Ranchi: The Department of Animal Husbandry and Dairying, Government of India unveiled 'A-HELP' (Accredited Agent for Health and Extension of Livestock Production) program in the state of Jharkhand, ushering in a new era for participation of women in the livestock sector. Hui. Jharkhand Government's Agriculture, Animal Husbandry and Cooperation Minister Badal Patralekh stressed the important role of women in the livestock sector of the state. The 'A-HELP' program is designed to empower women by involving them as accredited agents responsible for disease control, animal tagging and livestock insurance. It aims to increase access to veterinary services especially at the doorstep of farmers and promote the role of 'Pashu Sakhis'. The 'A-HELP' initiative, which is already operational in Bihar, Gujarat, Jammu and Kashmir, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, has been extended to various states and union territories across India, including Uttarakhand and Jharkhand, through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU).
