140 police officers selected for Union Home Minister's Medal for Excellence in Investigation

The “Union Home Minister’s Medal for Excellence in Investigation” for the year 2023 have been awarded to 140 Police personnel (List attached).This medal was constituted in 2018, with the objective to promote high professional standards of investigation of crime and recognize such Excellence in Investigation. It is announced on 12th of August every year. Among the personnel receiving these awards, 15 are from CBI, 12 from NIA, 10 from Uttar Pradesh, 09 each from Kerala & Rajasthan, 08 from Tamil Nadu, 07 from Madhya Pradesh and 06 from Gujarat and the remaining from the other States/UTs/Organizations. These include 22 Women Police Officers.Among the awardees, there are 10 cops from Uttar Pradesh, nine each from Kerala and Rajasthan, eight from Tamil Nadu, seven from Madhya Pradesh and six from Gujarat. The remaining officers are from other states and Union Territories and organisations.The Union Home Ministry on Saturday announced that 140 police officers, including 15 from the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) and 12 from the National Investigation Agency (NIA), have been selected for this year’s Union Home Minister’s Medal for Excellence in Investigation.Among the 140, four personnel, including one DCP rank officer of Delhi Police, have been selected for their investigation in a case related to the North-East Delhi riots in 2020.“The awardees include 22 women officers. The medal was constituted in 2018 with the objective to promote high professional standards of investigation and recognise excellence in investigations.
